Yemen War Casualties Count Hits 35,000

TEHRAN – Yemeni Health Miniser Taha Motawakel announced that the number of casualties of the Saudi-led coalition attacks on Yemen has reached 35,297.

Motawakel said this during a press conference in Sana'a on Tuesday, Iran's Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported citing Yemeni TV Channel, Al Masirah.

Since March 26, 2015 about 11,000 Yemenis were killed, 22,000 were injured and 1,000 others became disabled, he said.

He added that 2,230 children and 1,698 women were killed.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Motawakel called for the UN and other international bodies to take action on stopping Saudis attacks, breaking the siege, opening land, air and sea borders for transferring patients and drugs and medical aids.

He also condemned the coalition attacks on medical centres in Yemen.

Saudi Arabia and its regional allies attacked Yemen in March 2015 to bring back to power the deposed president of Yemen Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi.
