ANKARA, Jan 12 (Bernama) -- Turkish warplanes killed 22 Daesh terrorists in airstrikes on the group's targets in Al-Bab, in northern Syria, in the last 24 hours, the Turkish General Staff said on Thursday, according to China's Xinhua news agency.
Targets in the air raids included 160 positions belonging to terrorists, including defence positions, shelters and command facilities, the military said in a statement.
A total of 2,845 improvised explosive devices have been destroyed since last August, when Turkey launched the Euphrates Shield Operation against both Daesh and the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), the military wing of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD).
Turkey regards the YPG and the PYD as terrorist organisations due to their links to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party.
