TEHRAN: Iranian security forces attacked a terrorist group in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan and foiled their latest plot, Iran's Mehr News Agency (MNA)reported, citing a local media report.

The commander of the provincial border police, Brigadier General Gholam-Ali Kouhkan, said on Tuesday that security forces foiled a plot by a terrorist group to transport explosive devices inside the country.

Some 25 kilogrammes of explosives including explosive devices, telecommunications equipment, and ID cards were seized during the operation.

Kouhkan stated that Iranian border guards have seized 12 tonnes of illicit drugs and 26 rifles over the past 75 days.
