SINGAPORE, 1 FEBRUARY, 2012: TRANSFORMERS mania is expected to hit a new high in the island republic and the region with an announcement by renowned toy maker Hasbro Singapore and Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) that the TRANSFORMERS Cybertron Con 2012 (Cybertron Con) will be held at the resort in March this year.

The March 11 to 14 event, a first for Southeast Asia, will be a TRANSFORMERS extravaganza for fans, with extensive exhibits and activities that promises to please the most avid collectors and hobbyists.

Making an appearance at the convention will be TRANSFORMERS lead designer Hideaki Yoke, who has built up a substantial fan base.

Hasbro Singapore senior vice president & general manager for Asia Pacific, Harland Chun said following the TRANSFORMERS Cybertron Con’s successful inaugural convention in Shanghai in 2010, "We are thrilled to share the hugely popular TRANSFORMERS brand with fans in Singapore and around the region."

Following the recent launch of TRANSFORMERS The Ride at Universal Studios, and TRANSFORMERS: Dark of the Moon becoming the fourth highest grossing movie of all time, it is a fantastic opportunity to bring this tremendous event to Resorts World Sentosa, a very popular tourist destination in the region, he said.

He said the TRANSFORMERS brand continues to be a pop culture phenomenon with millions of fans worldwide.

"We're excited to welcome tens of thousands of fans to this unprecedented event.

"TRANSFORMERS Cybertron Con is about celebrating the love of the TRANSFORMERS brand with lifelong fans and new fans alike,” he added.

RWS senior vice president of Attractions Dennis Gilbert said, “We have had a tremendous run since the launch of TRANSFORMERS The Ride at Universal Studios Singapore. Bringing TRANSFORMERS Cybertron Con to Resorts World Sentosa is a natural step, considering the strong following of this global TRANSFORMERS phenomenon in Asia."

"We believe that the combination of the convention and the ride will complete the experience for any TRANSFORMERS fan," he added.
