Mo Salah Returns To Egypt Training As He Battles Back From Injury Ahead Of World Cup 2018

Mohamed Salah has returned to Egypt training ahead of the their World Cup opener against Uruguay on Friday.

Manager Hector Cuper hopes his star man will be able to play a key role in the tournament and welcomed the 25-year-old back for a session at the Akhmat Arena in Grozny.

Liverpool star Salah was injured in May's Champions League Final defeat to Real Madrid and was initially expected to miss at least part of the showpiece in Russia.

And Egypt are cautious over his recovery. Egyptian FA’s managing director, Ehab Lehita, said on Tuesday: “He is gradually getting better. However, I cannot confirm today that he will play in the first match. All I can say is that I hope he will.”

Salah scored 44 times for Liverpool last term and, if fully fit, is a potential star of the tournament.
