ST GALLAS (Switzerland): Spain manager Vicente del Bosque remained coy on his final squad of 23 for Euro 2012 after his experimental side beat Serbia 2-0 in St Gallas this morning.
The Spanish, the current world and European champions and playing without players from Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao who were involved in the Cope del Rey final on Friday, were disappointing in the first half.
However, they improved after the break following several changes, including striker Adrian Lopez, who scored the opener and won the penalty for the second, which was converted by midfielder Santi Cazorla.
Roberto Soldado and Alvaro Negredo started the match upfront but both flattered to deceive.
However, del Bosque stressed he would judge his strikers on the performances over the course of the season and not the one friendly.
"The most real type of training possible is a match and we have simply completed a cycle of training sessions with a friendly." he said.
"We brought Adrian with us this reason and he has the same chance as he did before today.
"Soldado also did well against Venezuela and together with his club. I will value what they have done throughout the season."
Adrian, who is with Atletico Madrid, was delighted with a goal on his senior debut and is keen to be included in the final squad after helping guide the Under-21 team to Euro success last summer.
Del Bosque is set to name his final squad later today.
Results of some other friendlies this morning: Norway 0 England 1, Holland 1 Belgium 2, Switzerland 5 Germany 3, Denmark 1 Brazil 3.
