Yesterday Sinar Harian Daily published an interview with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s former Private Secretary, Anuar Shaari where the latter accuses Anwar as being the real traitor to the Malays.

The reason behind his accusation is Anwar’s method of putting aside the Malay agenda to win the support of other races. Anwar is being described by him as a politician who promises a lot but failed to deliver any of it as most of them can only be delivered if he becomes the Prime Minister. According to Anuar, it’s perilous to make a lot of political promises without having the ability the deliver them.
PKR Central Election Director Saifuddin Nasution Ismail reacted to the Anuar’s accusations today in Sinar Harian by stating that such accusations will only strengthen Anwar’s will to continue leading PKR and Pakatan Rakyat.
“Anwar is a politician with extraordinary influence, not just in Malaysia but internationally,” he said.
There is a saying that ‘A Revolution, once in a while is a healthy thing’. The interesting point is that, as flawed a politician that Anwar is, there is no doubt that Anwar has influenced and changed the Malaysian political scene in a way no other political figure in Malaysian history has ever achieved.
The first time in 51 years of Malaysian political history in 2008, the opposition gained control of states like Penang, Selangor and Kedah. PKR Strategic Director Tian Chua stated in an interview with Malaysian Digest said that it has been a giant step for the last two years when people begin to enjoy a real sense of balance in power. According to him, the Government now is slightly more responsive to the people.
There is no such thing as a perfect leader or politician as they will always be a particular group or individual who would disagree with whatever approach or policy that they’re implementing. In fact, there is no such thing as a perfect human being.
The one thing that we continue to strife for is the balance in everything that we’re fighting for and believe in. It’s the balance of everything that will make the world a better place to live.
