What Can RM5 Get You Today? PDF Print
by Aidil Syukri

What can you get with RM5 when cost of living is very high today? With RM5, you just can send about 70 sms; you can go to KL Sentral from Shah Alam twice; and you can just purchase about 3 litre of petrol.

altalt

Thankfully, there are many places in Klang Valley where you can get a good meal for RM5. For example, in Klang I had a good lunch of nasi lemak with fried egg and iced milo at Restaurant Nasi Lemak Seri Haas.

In Shah Alam, RM5 buys me white rice with fried chicken, sambal, vegetables and iced milo at Umi Restaurant in Section 7 Shah Alam.

I am not sure if the prices have gone up over the years, but I am glad to know that I can live with RM5 a meal in Klang Valley. We will go back to the same place again in a few months' time to see if prices have changed.

By the way, politicians will never feel the hit of inflation because mixed rice (nasi campur) in Parliament cost at most RM4. No wonder they are not complaining about price increase.

For a sample of where to get your RM5 meal. Here's the 10 places I had been to:
