EPF in a statement today said all EPF systems were not affected and operations would proceed as normal.

It said the fire was limited to the exterior of the building and there were no casualties, even though the office at the building would be closed for the time being.

“The data were never in any danger of being compromised by the fire as our data servers are in a secured remote location and supported by world class back-up and recovery procedures,” the statement said.

In the incident at noon yesterday, about 40 per cent of the exterior of the six-storey branch office was damaged.

Meanwhile, in another statement, EPF chief executive officer Datuk Shahril Ridza Ridzuan said transactions could still be carried out at any other branches nationwide or online via the i-Akaun application.

He said investigations on the cause of the fire were being carried out while EFP would review the safety measures at all its buildings and branches throughout the country.
