Tunku Deanna Was A Humble Person - Husband

KUALA PILAH, Nov 10 – The late Tunku Datin Deanna Tuanku Munawir is regarded as a humble person who befriended people easily.

Her husband, Tengku Datuk Amran Tengku Mohd Yusof, 67, said this was apparent as she often bought food for the staff of University Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital each time she received treatment there.

Tunku Deanna would set aside her status as a member of the royal family when talking with others.

“My late wife was concerned about society and handed over aid when it was needed. The family is very sad by her loss but we accept god’s will,” he said when met at Seri Menanti Royal Mausoleum here today.

The remains of Tunku Deanna were buried Seri Menanti Royal Mausoleum at 2.18 pm today.

The late Tunku Deanna, who was the youngest sibling of the Yang Di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, passed away at Damansara Specialist Hospital, Kuala Lumpur, yesterday.

Tunku Deanna, 62, died at 4.24 pm due to diabetes.
Her remains were taken home to Istana Besar Seri Menanti at 10 pm yesterday for final respects and funeral. The couple have three daughters, aged 33, 36 and 40 years-old.

Meanwhile, her elder sister, Tunku Datin Anne Dakhlah said Tunku Deanna was often concerned about other people.

Tunku Anne Dakhlah said the last time she saw her sister was two weeks ago and she appeared healthy.

“During the meeting, Deanna asked me about our other siblings. She also sought my input about what to cook for the day,” she said.
