KANGAR, Nov 9 -- A final-year project by a Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) student has been selected as a pioneer project to develop an information technology application for the Perlis government.

UniMAP vice-chancellor, Datuk Prof. Dr. Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal said it was also an initiative of the National Blue Ocean Strategy involving students from the School of Computer and Communication Engineering and the state government.

He said the collaboration would benefit both parties as it did not involve any costs.

“It is also part of UniMAP’s initiative to promote innovative projects and research to the government and community,” he said in a statement here today.

Zul Azhar said the final-year project could be a catalyst towards creating an innovative ecosystem in line with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and promoting entrepreneurship.

“Indirectly, this effort would expose students to actual projects in the industry and at the same time, equip students with the skills to promote their innovations and creativity,” he said.
