CLMM 2017 To Address Conflict, Non-Conflict Zone Violence

Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.KUALA LUMPUR -- The implementation of specific strategies and actions to address the increasing violence in conflict and non-conflict zones will be among the main agenda at the Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting (CLMM) on Oct 16-19.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said the meeting, themed, ‘Strengthening The Rule of Law Through Technology', would also look into the development and need to strengthen the legislation in various fields. 

“Aspects of the International Humanitarian Law are also among 19 agenda that would be discussed during the plenary session of the meeting. 

"The CLMM 2017 is a forum for fostering cooperation among Commonwealth member countries, represented by their respective Minister of Law and State Attorney," she said in a statement today.

Azalina who will lead Malaysia’s delegation to the triennial meeting at Baha Mar Convention, Arts And Entertainment Centre in Nassau, Bahamas, said the CLMM 2017 would be chaired by  Senator Carl W. Bethel, QC, who is Bahamas’ Legal Affairs Minister and attorney-general.
