KUANTAN, 28 FEBRUARY, 2012: Police have so far only received a report from the Pahang Islamic Religious Department (Jaip) on the khalwat (close proximity) case involving Parti Keadilan Rakyat supreme council member, Dr Badrulamin Bahron.
Kuantan district police chief, ACP Mohd Jasmani Yusoff, however, said no police report had been made by Badrulamin.
He said police received a report made by Jaip at the Beserah police station at 10.28am on Feb 25 on the arrest for khalwat against the individual involved.
He was speaking to reporters after attending the monthly assembly of the Kuantan district police contingent at its headquarters, here, today.
Mohd Jamil said police would investigate and act on any report received pertaining to the case and so far, no police report on the alleged assault on the individual involved, as reported by the media, had been received.
According to media reports yesterday, Badrulamin claimed he was assaulted by a group of 20 men who raided his room at a hotel in Balok, here, that early morning before he was accused of committing khalwat with the wife of another man.
