Warning on Strong Wind and Choppy Sea	\| Print \|

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 JULY, 2010: Strong Westerly/South-Westerly winds with a speed of between 40km and 50km per hour and waves measuring up to 3.5 metres high are expected to occur in the waters off Perlis, Langkawi, Kedah and Penang until Tuesday.

The Meteorology Services Department said in a statement here today that the strong wind and choppy sea condition would be dangerous to small boats, sea recreation and sea sports.

The department also said that strong Westerly/South-Westerly winds with a speed of 50km to 60km per hour and waves measuring up to 4.5 metres high were reported in the waters off Phuket and expected to persist until Wednesday.

The strong wind and choppy sea condition would be dangerous to all shipping and coastal activities including fishing and ferry services.

The department also warned of thunder storms occurring in the waters off the West Coast of Sabah, Kudat, Sandakan and Sulu.
