Ministry to Expose Illegal Aspects of Pyramid Scheme Business | Print |

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 JULY, 2010: The Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry is to publish in newspapers the 10 characteristics of the pyramid scheme business contrary to regulations to prevent people falling prey to cheats, Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said today.

"I feel the people should protect themselves from being cheated under the scheme," he told reporters after opening the new building of the Companies Commission of Malaysia at Kuala Lumpur Sentral, here.

He was commenting on a news report today on the police success in uncovering the activities of a get-rich-quick scheme after arresting 59 people and confiscating 18 luxury cars in a raid in Petaling Jaya.

He said many people continued to be victimised although the government had advised the people to be cautious when investing in such schemes.
