KUALA LUMPUR, 28 JULY, 2010: Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry Deputy Secretary-General (Energy) Loo Took Gee has been appointed as the ministry's Secretary-General, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan said.

 

Loo's appointment takes effect on Aug 1.

She replaces Datuk Dr Halim Man who moves to the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan) on the same date.

Among others, Sidek said, Loo, 54, who has been with the ministry for the past 11 years, would spearhead the country's energy, water and green technology initiatives to spur economic growth and enhance the country's competitiveness, he said in a statement.

Loo holds a master's degree in policy science from Saitama University, Tokyo, Japan and a bachelor's degree in Southeast Asian Studies from University of Malaya.
