Excavator Operator Detained In Connection with Sand Theft	\| Print \|

BALIK PULAU, 23 JULY, 2010: A 52-year-old excavator operator has been detained by police to assist investigations into alleged sand theft at the Balik Pulau Polytechnic project site. Barat Daya police chief Supt Hatta Mat Zain said the man, believed to have operated the excavator during the thefts, was arrested at his home in Balik Pulau yesterday.

He said police were also tracking down two other suspects regarding the same matter.

Hatta said two excavators, which may have been used for the activities, were also confiscated by police.
