‘It’s Not 300,000’, NGO Rejects Opposition Claim And Confirms Only 12,000 Stateless Indians

After many have deemed it an “Opposition lie”, on October 31, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had clearly rejected the claim made by the opposition that some 300,000 Malaysian Indians were stateless. Calling it a "fairy tale", he said, as found under the MyDaftar initiative, there were only about 2,500 citizenship applications received from Malaysian Indians.
