Thai Police Seize 41 Home-Made Bombs From Truck At Narathiwat Road-Block

NARATHIWAT – Thai police stumbled on 41 home-made bombs and timer devices when they stopped and inspected a pick-up truck at a road-block in Kampung Saring, Takbai district this morning.

The bombs were concealed in cloth and kept in the back of the vehicle.

The 39-year-old driver of the vehicle was detained in the 11.45am (local time) incident to facilitate investigations.

Takbai district police chief, Colonel Pacharapon Na Nakorn said each bomb weighed about 500 grammes and were ready for use.

Also seized were an assortment of comminication equipment for use in triggering the bombs, he said.

He said the home-made bombs were brought from Sungai Golok  to be handed over to a man who had since given police the slip at the Ranget district in Narathiwat.
