Doan Admits Smearing Oily Substance On ‘Stout And Bald' Man Wearing Jacket

SHAH ALAM: Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong admitted that she had smeared an oily substance on a stout and bald man donning a jacket at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2), the High Court heard.

In her cautioned statement, read by her lawyer Hisyam Teh Poh Teik, she said Mr. Y, who was identified as North Korean Ri Ji Hyon, had told her to ‘attack’ the man claiming that he was the new actor hired by the company.

“He (Mr. Y) told me that the company had hired a new actress and actor to make the video more lively on YouTube.

“We stand at the check-in counter before Mr. Y pointed out the actor to me and put an oily substance into my hand.

“I saw the new actress had made her move to the actor from his back before I approach him and smeared my hands on his face.

“I put my hands on his eyes and rub my hands on his face before fleeing the scene.

“I smelt something smelly after the act and said sorry to him before I went to the toilet at the second floor to wash my hands,” she said.

Doan, a woman now facing trial for the murder of North Korean Kim Chol, said Mr. Y told her that he would be busy after Feb 13 and would not use his phone for one day.

“I went back to Klia2 on Feb 15 because Mr. Y told me earlier that we will be shooting another prank video at the departure hall.

“I arrived at about 8am and call him (Mr. Y) many times but he had switched off his phone. After that, I called Uber to return to the hotel before police arrested me.

“I do not know that the actor was dead until Feb 16 when police told me about the incident.

“I think Mr. Y used me to do the video on Feb 13,” she said, adding that she was not paid for the job.

Hisyam, during cross-examination of the ninth prosecution witness Assistant Superintendent Wan Azirul Nizam Che Wan Aziz, said Doan did not know the ‘oily’ substance on her hand was VX chemical weapon.

Hisyam told the court that Doan had shot several prank videos for Mr. Y’s company.

“On Feb 2, she (Doan) had done a similar tactic at the Noi Bai International Airport to a Vietnamese government officer who came back from Singapore with his mother,” he said.

Earlier, the trial became lively when an intimidating kissing scene in a prank show between Doan and Vietnamese freelancer Nguyen Many Quang was screened in the courtroom.

In the five-minute-and-42-second video which was uploaded on YouTube, Nguyen, also known as Quang Bek, went around to play a game using a toy crocodile head with several women on the street including Doan.

Doan, who was wearing a revealing short red dress and sporting shoulder length brunette hair, played the game with Quang Bek near a park in Hanoi.

The duo pressed the teeth in the crocodile’s mouth alternately until the mouth snapped and bit Doan’s finger, which meant she had lost the game.

As a reward, Quang Bek was allowed to kiss her on the lips.

However, the ‘simple’ kiss turned out to be a very passionate kiss between the two and this left the courtroom in stitches including the judge and the accused.

The trial continues tomorrow before Judge Datuk Azmi Ariffin.

On March 1, Doan and Indonesian Siti Aisyah were charged at the Sepang magistrate's court with murdering Kim Chol, 45, at klia2 departure hall around 9am on Feb 13.

They were alleged to have committed the offence with four other men who were still at large.

Kim Chol was later established to be Kim Jong-nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries a mandatory death penalty upon conviction.
