In a move to drive the country’s economic growth forward in 2020 and beyond, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) announced a landmark partnership with global technology leader Adobe.

The long-term strategic initiative will have UiTM deploying Adobe Creative Cloud throughout their campuses across the country to empower students with industry-relevant tools and experience, making UiTM Malaysia’s first public university to do so and positioning them as a leader in creative eduaction.

This move by UiTM ensures that the graduates they produce will be able to compete in the workforce as they would be a generation of creative and designers who have worked with the best technology from the onset and have valuable experience in design and graphic tools that will benefit them throughout their careers.

“Acknowledging this need, the need to provide an effective digital learning environment; to build a strong academic community, to ignite creativity; UiTM has collaborated with Adobe in an attempt to prepare and shape graduates, who are not only competitive, but technology savvy and entrepreneurial minded as well.

“Today’s graduates play an important role in Malaysia and the global world, where the younger generation are leading the way forward. This astute and timely move is in line with the direction of the 2050 National Transformation (TN50) vision,” said Vice Chancellor of UiTM, Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr Hassan Said.

Adobe is also proud to partner with UiTM in their mission to produce world-class graduates that will propel the country’s economic growth as the country moves into the digital age with the vision to become a developed nation.

“With technology innovation evolving faster than any time in history, preparing students with the confidence and skills to join the knowledge economy and be successful continues to be a focus for Adobe. This partnership is a strong validation of Adobe’s market leadership in the creative space,” said Wayne Weisse, Education Director for Adobe Asia Pacific.

The deployment of Adobe Creative Cloud has already begun at UiTM’s Shah Alam main campus, and is expected to complete by April 2017 for all UiTM campuses nationwide where it is currently installed on all on-campus devices, with UiTM staff being able to obtain off-campus access as well but students’ off-campus access would be obtained at a later date.
