Quran Recitation As Guide To Unity - Tun Juhar

KOTA KINABALU -- Muslims should recite the Quran to guide them in upholding unity and strengthening solidarity with other communities in the country said Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri, Tun Juhar Mahiruddin.

He said differences between the community must be addressed according to customs, culture and religious guidelines.

“The teachings of the Quran guide us towards unity because it emphasises on the unity of Muslims to execute plans for progress. No success can be achieved without unity,” he said when closing the state-level Quran Recitation and Memorisation ceremony here tonight.

Meanwhile, Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman reminded Muslims to be wary of those who played on sensitive issues, particularly issues related to religion and race.

“Harmony within religious diversity as well as among ethnic groups in our state must be protected,” he added.

At the event Mohd Ayub Maidi of Tawau was announced best state-level male reciter, while Nurfateen Izzati Rablin, who represented the northwest coast was best female reciter.
