Wives Of Elected Reps Need To Get Close To People - Rosmah

Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.MELAKA – President of the Charitable and Welfare Association of the Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti), Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor today called on the wives of elected representatives to go to the ground to get close to the people and listen to their problems.

The prime minister’s wife said the wives of elected representatives should be together serving those in need regardless of time and place.

“When we serve, make sure the good deeds we do, the services we deliver and the aid we hand out could really touch the people’s hearts.

“We need to pool our energy and strengths to be the pillars of our spouses’ struggles,” she said at the opening of the 2017 All-Malaysia Annual Programme of the Wives of Barisan Nasional Elected Representatives held at the Melaka International Trade Centre, Ayer Keroh, here, today.

It was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zahid Hamidi, with Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron also present.

Rosmah said the people could evaluate every service or contribution made no matter how small but if done with a noble intention, it would surely be appreciated.

“When the 14th general election heat is increasingly felt each day, we will be facing a political wave that is increasingly challenging, ” she added.

Looking at the current scenario, she also reminded the wives of Barisan Nasional leaders and elected representatives to be fully aware of their role and responsibilities.

Meanwhile, she praised Melaka’s earnest efforts in hosting the programme, by also introducing an ICT innovation of developing a mobile application on the programme which is comparable to the mobile application of the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games.

Some 580 participants from 14 states including Bakti members are involved in the five-day annual programme scheduled to end this Sunday.
