Not Fit To Attend World Cup Finals But Rescued Thai Boys Receive Invite To Old Trafford

It has been 18 days since 13 members of the Mu Pa (Wild Boar) football team were trapped inside a flooding cave.

Their recent rescue was celebrated worldwide, with heaps of praises given to the multinational rescuers from the Thai Navy SEALs to the US Navy.

In fact, the miraculous rescue even grabbed the attention of Gianni Infantino, the president of football’s governing body FIFA, and as their rescue coincided with the ongoing 2018 World Cup, he personally invited all 13 members to attend the final match of the prestigious tournament.

“I sincerely hope that they will be able to join us at the final, which will undoubtedly be a wonderful moment of communion and celebration,” Infantino wrote in a correspondence to the president of the Football Association of Thailand.

Unfortunately, the boys will be unable to fulfil the invitation due to health concerns as they are now recovering in the Chiang Rai hospital.

However, another football giant has offered the boys an invitation that could rival the one from Infantino.

Manchester United offered members of Mu Pa to visit 'The Theatre of Dreams' in Old Trafford, for the upcoming season.

“Manchester United is greatly relieved to learn that the 12 footballers and their coach trapped in a cave in Thailand are now safe. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected.

“We would be honoured to welcome the team from the Wild Boars Football Club and their rescuers to Old Trafford this coming season,” the English football club wrote on their Facebook.

Man Utd fans were excited over the announcement, with many netizens praising the class act of the club.

Some netizens also suggested for the club to invite the rescuers as well, including family members of Saman Kunan, the Thai Navy SEAL diver who died during the rescue operation.

Hopefully the squad will be in the pink of health and accept Man Utd's invitation when the time comes.
