3-Year-Old Went To School And Came Back With Her Ear Badly Bruised, Mother Shares What Really Happened

Pictures of a little girl with her ear terribly bruised had gone viral recently, after it was shared by her mother on Facebook.

On March 10, distraught mother from Singapore, Claudia Kwan, relayed her horror to her followers over finding her three-year-old daughter’s ears being badly bruised after she returned from preschool last February 14.

“When my husband picked my daughter up from her preschool, on the way home, he sensed that something was not right with my girl’s mood, so he parked his car and turn around; only to see that something very unusual and totally unexpected had happened to her ear.

“Her messy hair covered part of the ear and she was sweaty after a whole day in school but what he saw was a horrific bruise on the top of her ear. When they reached home, my hubby asked me to check what had happened to her ear and to my horror, her ear was badly bruised to such an extent that it was swelling badly,” Kwan wrote.

Kwan said when she asked her daughter what had happened, the little girl could only break down into tears, which prompted the worried mother to query the school.

Since none of the teachers could provide an answer to her daughter’s mysterious bruising, the mother brought her tot for a check-up.

She shared that her daughter was diagnosed with “a form of traumatic bruising that was caused by the exertion of great intentional force, and not a result of insect bites or drug allergies,” and proceeded to lodge a police report against the preschool.

That was when Kwan also found out that one of the teachers had pinched and twisted her daughter’s ears after the little girl singled out the exact teacher to the police officer.

Kwan added that on February 15, after sending her daughter for a re-diagnosis and second opinion, her case was classified as a “non-accidental injury” – though the preschool still remains innocent over any wrongdoings.

“I went to the preschool to seek assistance, but did not expect to be met with loads of excuses and indifference by the supervisor of the school. Essentially, his message to me is all my daughter's teachers are from the church affiliated to the preschool (implying that they are Christians), and that he fully believes and trusts that none of his teachers would abuse a child to such an extent.”

What's more appalling Kwan says, is that, "the preschool is still allowing the suspected teacher to continue teaching while risking the safety of many other young children under her care."

Ever since the incident, Kwan shared, her daughter has been greatly traumatised, has regular nightmares while shouting out she’s sorry to the teacher who inflicted pain on her.

“Back home, when I was reading story books to her, she would suddenly say that her teacher is "the evil wolf” in the story of the Three Little Pigs and that she was the “wicked queen” in Snow White or that her soft toys would help to protect her from her evil teacher,” Kwan wrote.

And though the school alleged they saw a bruise below her daughter cheeks a week ago, Kwan defended, "That’s because she accidentally bump into her brother while he was exercising.

"It’s very different from the fresh horrific bruise on her ear. There is simply NO reasons to classified the different bruise as same bruise," she wrote on March 12.

"From the start the school was hiding here and there not telling the full details to me. If they are so transparent they would have shown us the CCTV and avoid all these."

The mother said that she has since reported the matter and in a follow-up posting, she revealed, both the police and Early Childhood and Development Agency (ECDA) are investigating the matter urgently.

Kwan who earlier claims she herself is “slipping into depression” because of the situation, can now heave a sigh of relief as she writes, “At least now I have some form of assurance that my daughter's case will be followed up swiftly. I’m looking forward to a closure on this case soon.”
