Chance For Dance Enthusiasts To Participate In 2018 World Dance Cup In Spain

KOTA KINABALU -- The Sabah United Tobilung Association (Tobisa) has invited dance enthusiasts to try their luck in the Malaysian qualifying round for the upcoming the 2018 Dance World Cup Finals in June in Barcelona, Spain.

Its president, Muji NC Ampau said the inaugural Malaysian qualifying round was aimed at identifying young talents, in collaboration with the Sabah National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN).

“The qualifying round will be held for three days at the State JKKN Complex from Feb 23-25 and young people are encouraged to take up this golden opportunity,” he said in a statement here today.

Muji, who is also country's chef de mission, said the qualifying round comprised four categories namely mini (aged four to nine); children (aged 10-13); junior (aged 14-17) and senior (aged 18-25) .

He said for the qualifying round, participants could choose either to perform solo, in pair or in group and type of dances to be presented should consist national or folk dance, modern contemporary or multi-style, showdance, jazz, ballet and hip hop, he said.
